Reporters Cammi Granato ***** Rich Storm

Beavis sent me this picture. Rich Storm would like to create a
Duffer version, but he can't decide who should be Lyndros.

Papa Joe!

Friday 5/11/01
Papa was spotted at Henry's last week, pouring beer.  That means one of 3 things:
  1. It was his Birthday
  2. His wife was out of town
  3. He scored
Papa  scored on a bad angle shot that found it's way
into the net, I asked him to e-mail me an embellishment.  Here it is.
I received a nice pass from Doc about 25 ft out from the net and left of the slot.  I just took a wrist shot and it went in on the short side.  Danny didn't leave much room, I guess he thought the post was covered.  I watched it go in and it looked like it turned a little on an angle between the post and his leg pad.  I reminded him afterward that chewing
tobacco can make bad things happen to a person.  Let's not remind him that someone 40 years older than he  scored.  That is going to be a tough record to beat but it is another reason to keep on playing.

Remember:  WE DO NOT GROW OLD BECAUSE WE PLAY,  WE CEASE TO GROW OLD BECAUSE WE  CONTINUE TO PLAY.

Joe had the only meaningful goal of the night.  Gary the Ghost played a great game with his new eyesight and shut out the Blues.  Bill Alien provided some more laughs when he forgot to hop on to the ice twice in the third period when his center came off.  When we screamed at him, he yelled for Rich Storm to come off.  We were short a center and Stormy was playing Defense!

Duffers are Knocked out of the Play offs by the Ice Show

The Duffer play off game at the Rocket Ice Arena on Friday, May 18.
has been canceled because they have an Ice show scheduled.  Maybe we will have the Picnic Committee or a Duffer Video show that night.

Our 30th Season will end Tonight

The King needs Picture money and 30 year Stuff orders.  He also needs $40.00 if you plan to attend Beak's Retirement Party at the Oak Lawn Holiday Inn on June 8. Call the King if you are planning to attend my retirement.  He has to write a check for tickets on May 11.  You don't want the King to call you.   The evening will include a family style dinner and open bar.

Bowling?
Any body want a bowling party? The Oskrobas will fill half of the 72 slots, but no one else has expressed any interest. Who can make it on Saturday July 14?

 The Peoria Rivermen
The Titans won games 1, 3, 4 and 7.
Peoria won games 2, 5 and 6.
Game 7 was tied at 3 when the Titans scored with only 30 seconds left in the game.

Beer-nuts, Beak and Jeff Lopatka went down
to Peoria to cheer the Rivermen on to Victory.

Tuesday, May 2, 2001
Worcester Ice Cats lost a game 7 heartbreaker 3-2 in over time. The Providence Bruins will move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Rivermen Star Trevor Baker told Jeff that he would score a goal for him, and he did.  That is Trevor dancing. (right)

Baker goes for a rebound.

Trevor Baker scores on his first shift.

Goalie, Kenric Exner welcomes Jeff to the Rivermen locker room.

We were treated to intense Play off Hockey.

Doc failed to score this week, but he knocked Tweedy the goalie out with a crashing slide.

I got this e-mail from a sensitive female. (I know that is redundant, because all women are sensitive.)  Many of these things apply to us, insensitive males.  See if you agree.
